Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers chase new IPL milestones as RCB take on KXIP at Sharjah

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) hammered Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in their previous encounter as fans witnessed a special innings from AB de Villiers. The veteran South African, together with skipper Virat Kohli, orchestrated another 100-run stand for the franchise. As the duo prepares to take on Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 Match No. 31, a few new milestones await them.

Both Kohli and De Villiers seem to have hit the purple patch in the recent innings for RCB. Against KKR, De Villiers was named the Man of the Match for his 33-ball 73 that took the franchise to a huge total of 194 on a difficult track. Kohli, meanwhile, also remained unbeaten on 33 as Bengaluru secured an 82-run win.

When the two arrive in Sharjah to take on Punjab, Kohli could go on to add two new illustrious milestones to his decorated cap. The 31-year-old is only 6 fours away from touching the 500-mark in IPL. If he manages to hit 3 more sixes for RCB against KXIP in Sharjah on Thursday, Kohli would complete a double century of maximums in the T20 league.

As far as De Villiers is concerned, he has once again cemented his place as one of the finest batters of the IPL 2020 season. He now sits only 48 runs away from reaching 4000-mark in the IPL. Not just that, the former Proteas skipper is also only 3 catches away from completed 100 in the T20 league.
